Angelica Villalon(Introdans)

Angelica is a ballet dancer from Vancouver. She has been passionate about dance since early childhood, training at the Flora Pigeau Dance Academy and the Goh Ballet Academy. At 17, she entered Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto. Later, she studied at Palucca Schule in Dresden, danced with the Thüringer Staatsballett in Germany, and has been with Introdans in the Netherlands since 2013.
“I first started ballet at the age of three. From that point on my parents supported my passion for dance wherever it led me.”
She describes her own personality as a mix of her parents’ characters. Mother: thoughtful, positive and elegant. Father: outspoken, funny and creative.

The idea of wanting to explore the unknown is what brought Angelica to Europe.
“Europe is so different to Canada. I was very curious to explore the different cultures and lifestyles.” She attended the Palucca Schule in Dresden as a guest student. After finishing that year she was offered a contract at the Thüringer Staatsballett in Gera. “It was there that I danced Nils Christe’s Sacre for the first time, later having the pleasure again with Introdans in my first season.”
As the company approached change over the course of time, and thus the repertoire as well, Angelica felt satisfied with that chapter in her life and wanted to move on and discover a new adventure. She then auditioned for Introdans and was accepted within two days. “I was in shock, it came together so fast! I was very happy with this opportunity I was given.”

“I really enjoy the challenging repertoire with the many different styles here at Introdans. I feel the group is very hard working and supportive. It’s a pleasure to work in this positive atmosphere. My parents come to visit me once a year. When they’re here they take every opportunity to see me dance: training, rehearsals, and performances. They’re always so supportive and proud that I’m able to follow my passion and make my dream come true. I’m so happy to see them when they’re here, it’s truly quality family time. After visiting me they often follow it up with a trip around Europe. That curiosity is another family trait.”

Angelica values challenge and growth, always seeking to express herself while remaining open to feedback. Outside the studio, she enjoys adrenaline-filled activities like bungee jumping and skydiving, as well as creative hobbies like cooking and handicrafts. She overcame language and cultural barriers by learning German, which now helps her adapt to life in the Netherlands. Today, she continues to take on diverse and exciting repertoire with Introdans, supported by a hardworking and inspiring team.
For the Expo 2025, with her real-life father, Reynaldo, Angelica joins to create a dance piece that transcends both borders and generations.

Mark van Drunick(Introdans)

Mark was brought up with Dance.
His parents, both ex-dancers and owners of the DansPodium dance school in Zevenaar, inspired him to dance.
“My parents radiated intense joy in teaching and made me and many others fall in love with movement. They never forced me to dance; I’ve tried gymnastics, football and piano, but all of that was nothing compared to the happiness I feel in the dance studio. ”
At the age of five, Mark started breakdancing in his parents’ dance school. Mark became fascinated by the great movements and the way breakdance uses the human body. Shortly afterwards, he started with 1-on-1 ballet lessons, under the guidance of his mother and father. He also took classes in modern dance and urban dance. “The burning desire for movement kept growing, so I decided to study dance”.
Mark was admitted to various dance academies in the Netherlands and eventually decided to opt for ArtEZ in Arnhem. Also during his search for an internship, several companies saw his talent, but Mark chose for an internship at Introdans with full conviction.
“I’ve been attending Introdans performances for as long as I can remember. Never have I missed a program. Introdans’ artistry really appeals to me as a dancer. Introdans’ repertoire is very diverse and includes some of the best choreographies in the world. Introdans conquers the audience with dance that is poignant, beautiful and sometimes funny. I am grateful for the opportunity to join these great dancers and I’m enjoying my time at Introdans ”.
For Mark, dance is the ultimate form of freedom.
“It is a language that we all speak. I believe that the language of dance has more words than all languages put together, because with dance you can express things that cannot be captured in words ”.
On stage, Mark is the true version of himself, without filters. His goal is to make the audience think, feel and experience something that it normally does not experience. As soon as the audience enters the theater, it enters a new world: a fantasy world.
“Even if I can only take one person out of reality with my dance, it is worth all the effort”.
In the new piece UNUM, he will perform for the first time with his real-life mother, Anne.
